The Jigawa State Police Commissioner, Abdullahi Tinzani has said over 212 suspects have been arrested in the ongoing hunger protests.
He added that 74 suspects have already been charged to court.
Parading the suspects at the police headquarters in Dutse on Saturday, the Commissioner of Police said several recoveries were made from the suspects.
“212 suspects were arrested, 74 of them already charged to court on Friday, over 50 motor cycles were recovered.
“Three Tricycles, 12 bicycles and 303 bags of Fertilizers, nine chairs, 54 mosquitoes nets, seven bags of rice as well as office furniture were also recovered,” CP stressed.
He however warned perpetrators of violence to desist immediately or face the wrath of the law.
He said security operatives stopped miscreants from vandalizing a store in the outskirt of Dutse, the state capital, where over four truck loads of goods were taken to the police headquarters for safe keeping.
“Let me use this medium on behalf of other security agencies to call on individuals and group of persons engaging in disturbing the peace to desist forthwith,” he warned.
