(SINL NIGERIA) Senator Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari, representing Zamfara West Senatorial district and former Governor of Zamfara State, has called on Christians to utilize the Christmas and New Year festivities to pray for enhanced national unity, cohesion, peace, and progress in Nigeria.
During a presentation of gifts to the Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN), APC Igbo and Yoruba Wings, Igbo and Yoruba Communities in Zamfara State, Senator Yari emphasized the importance of praying for the good health and divine guidance of the nation’s leaders, particularly President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He expressed his desire for the successful implementation of the President’s policy thrust.
The gifts presented included 310 bags of 50kg rice, 16 cows, and one million Naira cash.
Senator Yari was represented by Alh. Sani Garba, Federal Commissioner, Federal Character Commission from Zamfara State.
In his remarks, Senator Yari stressed that the spirituality of Christmas should be paramount, rather than engaging in frivolous activities.
He assured that his commitment to assisting the Christian community would not waver.
Receiving the gifts, Evangelist Michael Tajudeen Azeez Afolabi, Chairman of Christians Association of Nigeria, Zamfara State, expressed gratitude to Senator Yari for his kindness, noting that this was not the first time he had received such generosity from the Senator, even after he left office as Governor in 2019.
Evangelist Afolabi pledged to reciprocate the gesture through prayers, solidarity, and support for Senator Yari and President Tinubu.
Mrs. Collins, Chairperson of Zamfara State APC Igbo wing, also prayed for God to reward Senator Yari abundantly for his generosity.
