(SINL NIGERIA) The Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board, ZSUBEB, in collaboration with the United Nations International Fund for Education, UNICEF, has organized a three-day training workshop on School-Based Management Committees, SBMC.
The objectives of the workshop are to conduct refresher training for 100 SBMC members and trainers, build the capacity of 100 SBMC members on their roles and responsibilities.
This was contained in a statement issued by the spokesman of ZSUBEB, Comrade Ibrahim Musa Maizare, saying that the workshop will enhance the capacities of 100 SBMC members on School Safety and Discipline, SSD initiatives, and develop school safety implementation plans.
The statement added that the expected results of the workshop include the successful completion of refresher training for 100 SBMC member trainers, the building of capacity for 100 SBMC members on their roles and responsibilities, the enhancement of the capacities of 100 SBMC members on SSD and school safety initiatives, and the development of school safety implementation plans.
“The workshop is being conducted in the local government areas of Gusau, Bakura, Maradun, and Gummi, with the aim of reaching as many stakeholders as possible and ensuring that the training has a broad impact on the education system in the State.
“Through this initiative, the Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board, ZSUBEB, and UNICEF are working together to improve the quality of education in the state by empowering SBMC members and ensuring that they are equipped to effectively carry out their roles in school management and safety.
“It is hoped that the knowledge and skills acquired during the workshop will enable SBMC members to contribute positively to the development of their schools and the overall quality of education in Zamfara State.
“This collaborative effort between the government and UNICEF demonstrates a commitment to improving education and ensuring a safe learning environment for all students in the State”.
