(SINL NIGERIA) The Senate Minority leader, Senator Abbo Moro has applauded President Bola Tinubu for assenting to the bill establishing the North Central Development Commission.
Recall, the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio at the plenary on Tuesday announced that President Tinubu has signed the North Central Development Commission bill into law.
Reacting to the presidential assent, Senator Moro, who represents Benue South senatorial district said with the birth of the commission, development will spread out, saying the federal government cannot be in every place at the same time.
“We expect that Mr. President will graciously, in line with his desire, to take developments to the grassroots, to provide for the management of the commission, to also take off like other commissions”.
Abba Moro, who sponsored the bill said “and I am very happy, very excited, and I feel very, very fulfilled at this moment in time”.
“The desire of the people is to take their own destinies in their hands, that various communities and zones should be prepared to take their own destiny in their own hands.
“And we are grateful to Mr. President, we are grateful to the Senate, the 10th Senate, under the leadership of Senator Akpabio, of course… We’re grateful to everybody that has made it possible for today to come true.
“I think we must change the narrative. That is what North Central Development Commission is all about. And I will forcefully, aggressively participate, encourage, and partner with everybody that is involved to make sure that the North Central Development Commission becomes a success story” Abba Moro added.
