(SINL NIGERIA) The Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscape, ACReSAL project in Zamfara State has created five weather metrology stations across the three senatorial districts which are ready to be commissioning across the State.
This was made known to newsmen in Gusau, by the State ACReSAL project coordinator, Nasiruddeen Bello, during the closing of a two-day stakeholders workshop on the micro watershed catchment management plan development project organized by ACReSAL in collaboration with Proxy Logistics Limited funded by World Bank.
The project coordinator, Nasiruddeen Bello stated that the weather metrology stations were established to monitor the weather in the State and alert happenings to the communities through media sensitisation.
He noted that the weather metrology stations were established across the three senatorial district which includes Gusau, Anka, Gummi, Shinkafi and Bakura areas.
“All the five weather metrology stations are ready for commissioning, we are only waiting for consent from the executive Governor Dauda Lawal,” he added.
Speaking earlier, during the workshop, Professor Akobundu Amadi from Proxy Logistics Limited explained that ACReSAL is a project funded by the World Bank across 19 States and Abuja, aimed at addressing the challenges of land degradation and climate change on a multidimensional scale.
