Tax Reform Bills: NASS Committed to enacting reforms to strengthen economy -Senator Musa

(SINL NIGERIA) The chairman of Senate committee on finance, Senator Sani Musa (APC, Niger East) has assured that the National Assembly, remains committed to enacting reforms that will strengthen Nigeria’s economy and improve the ease of doing business and also ensure that taxation is equitable and transparent.

Senator Musa made the remarks on Tuesday at the end of a two-day public hearing on proposed tax reform bills held in Abuja.

He said Nigeria want to be paired among those advanced economies that today we see them differently in the way and manner they collect and make the best and judicious use of all the revenue they have collected.

He added “Our recommendations have enriched our discussions and will go a long way in shaping tax policies. Over the past session, we have critically examined key aspects of our tax system identifying areas of improvement to enhance revenue generation, promote investments, and ease the burden of taxpayers. 

“The submissions made here will be thoroughly reviewed and considered as we refine these bills to ensure they serve the best interest of all Nigerians”.

Meanwhile, the lawmaker assured Nigerians that the committee will bring out the best of recommendations to the Senate and by extension the National Assembly on the legislation, on all the four bills that have been submitted by President Bola Tinubu.

Indeed, the gathering brought together key stakeholders from the nation’s economic and financial sectors.
