The former Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin, is currently embroiled in a fresh controversy related to his daughter’s divorce proceedings.

Reports alleged that Jibrin is manipulating the divorce case, where his daughter reportedly abandoned her husband and took their children, who have been in Jibrin’s custody for over five years. This situation has reportedly led to allegations of oppression and abuse against the husband by Jibrin.

Additionally, Jibrin’s daughter is a staff of Nimasa in Lagos and known to own several filling stations and other businesses in Abuja, which may add complexity to the family dispute.

This family controversy comes amid serious legal troubles for Jibrin. He was recently arrested by the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) on charges involving a ₦1.5 billion fraud scandal.

The ICPC has filed a 17-count charge against him and two other officers, accusing them of money laundering and making false statements related to the diversion of funds.

Despite a court order for his arrest, concerns have been raised about the difficulty of executing the warrant due to Jibrin’s alleged influence and military connections.

Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin faces both a public corruption scandal and a personal family dispute involving his daughter’s divorce Hadiza Jibrin, with allegations of his interference in the matter adding to his controversies.
