(SINL NIGERIA) Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board, ZSUBEB has assured that it has taken significant step towards improving educational standards in the State.
ZSUBEB in collaboration with the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund, UNICEF organized a comprehensive training session for School-Based Management Committees, SBMC and Center-Based Management Committees, CBMC on effective utilization of grants for schools.
In an address, the Executive Chairman of ZSUBEB, Professor Nasir Garba Anka praised UNICEF for its unwavering support for education in the State.
He emphasized the importance of using the allocated funds according to the proposed plans and urged the SBMC and CBMC members to justify the trust placed in them. He firmly stated that the board would not tolerate any mismanagement of the funds, underscoring the significance of the training they were attending.
Professor Anka reiterated the Board’s commitment to fostering collaborations with any organization dedicated to advancing education in Zamfara State.
He explained that the State is currently under a State of Emergency in education, as declared by Governor Dauda Lawal, and highlighted the noticeable progress being made in this regard.
Anka urged participants to pay close attention during the training, as it would play a crucial role in their understanding and execution of grant management.
Isah Suleman Jangebe, a focal person from UNICEF, also spoke at the event, announcing that ten Integrated Qur’anic Schools and five public primary schools would benefit from UNICEF’s support.
Jangebe further noted that all chairpersons and secretaries of the schools would receive valuable training to enhance their administrative capabilities.
The training session focused on equipping participants with the necessary skills to effectively manage grants and ensure that funds are utilized to enhance the quality of education in their respective schools.
Participants were encouraged to engage actively during the session and share their experiences and challenges in managing educational funds.
“The collaboration between ZSUBEB and UNICEF is a promising initiative aimed at building the capacity of local education stakeholders”, the statement added.
“With such partnerships, the hope is to create a more accountable and transparent education system that ultimately benefits students across the State”
