The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has unveiled a strategic document titled “2025 Climate-Related Risk Management Implications, Preparedness, and Mitigative Actions” as part of efforts to reduce the impact of predicted flooding across Nigeria.
Director General of NEMA, Hajiya Zubaida Umar, made this known during a stakeholders’ engagement on the 2025 National Preparedness and Response Campaign on Flood Disaster and Related Hazards, held in Gusau, Zamfara State.
Represented by the Deputy Director of the Relief and Rehabilitation Department, Malam Sulaiman Kasim, she said the initiative was informed by forecasts from the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) and the Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency, (NIHSA).
