Eld-El-Kabir: Wase urges unity, peace among Nigerians

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Ahmed Idris Wase, has felicitated with the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of this years’s Eid el-Kabir Sallah celebration.


In his Sallah message to all Muslims issued on Thursday, Wase called on the Muslim faithful to use the festive period for sober reflection and to imbibe the spirit of sacrifice for peace, unity and progress of the country.


He also called for prayers during the Sallah celebration for an end to the COVID-19 pandemic that has been ravaging the world, a statement by Umar Muhammad Puma, Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives said on Thursday.


He said: “As we celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, a period of sacrifice and reflection.I urge us all to pray for the end of the COVID-19 pandemic and to emulate the virtues of total obedience, sacrifice in faith and selfless service as demonstrated and exemplified by Prophet lbrahim (AS).”


The Deputy Speaker also urged all Nigerians, irrespective of culture and religion, to unite as one and contribute their quota to the quest for building a peaceful and united country.
