Wamakko sponsors 45 indigent undergraduate students to Lead City Varsity, Ibadan

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Defence and Deputy Chairman,  Senate Committee on Anti Corruption, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko has again sponsored forty five indigent undergraduate students at the Lead City University,  Ibadan, Oyo State.

The lucky students will study various Science, Engineering and medical courses, to enhance manpower development of Sokoto state and Nigeria.

Wamakko, in a statement on Monday by Bashir Rabe Mani, Dan Masanin Mani, his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity and made available to SINL Nigeria Online presented the Admission letters to the benefitting students, at the weekend, at his Gawon Nama, Sokoto residence.

The statement said the students were drawn from across the twenty three local governments areas of the state, devoid of the consideration of his Sokoto North Senatorial District.

Wamakko urged them to be serious with their studies, and steer clear of acts capable of truncating their education.

He also admonished them not to misuse the golden opportunity the Almighty Allah has provided them with,  through him.

While urging them not to engage in acts capable of smearing the good image of their families or Sokoto State,  the former Governor also described  education as the best asset one can possess.

“A whopping amount of money has been spent in securing the admission slots and other related expenditure under the gesture, hence, you should not misuse the opportunity, as energetic and patriotic youths.

“You should stay away from any obnoxious groups like cults, that can morally corrupt you” Wamakko, advised.

The students will study courses ranging from Medicine, Engineering, Public Administration,  Information,  Communications and Technology and Psychology, among others.

The epoch-making event was witnessed by the former Transport Minister, Alhaji Yusuf Suleiman, Executive Secretary,  Police Trust Fund, Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto and the State APC Chairman,  Alhaji Isa Sadiq Achida, among other dignitaries.

The students are expected to commence their academic program at the University, this week.
