A chieftain of the People’s Democratic party (PDP) in Zamfara state, Professor Kabiru Umar Jabaka, has claimed that since the beginning of democracy in 1999 to date, Zamfara state has been misrepresented and under-represented in both the Senate and House of Representatives.

Professor Jabaka who disclosed this in an interview in Gusau on Wednesday, said people of the state were far behind in terms of some basic amenities.

According to him, this was due to the failure of those who represented the state at the two chambers of the National Assembly, saying their efforts were poor.

“Essentially if you are elected as a lawmaker to represent your people, you are expected to fully represent them both socially and economically but unfortunately, our people are under-represented and misrepresented by those we elected at National levels since 1999 to date”.

According to him, when given the opportunity come 2023, he would ensure adequate representation particularly  in Zamfara Central senatorial zone.
