(SINL NIGERIA) Travellers going to the Southern part of Nigeria for Christmas have cried out over high transport fare, saying it is worrisome.
According to a passenger, simply identified as Ikechukwu, “even though the fuel price has gone up, the transporters should not use the opportunity to inconvenient people as they are doing.
“They should know that things are hard this period, but we should not be made helpless in the society”, he lamented.
Another traveller, Madam Uzo said that she was not happy over the situation of things happening in the country, stressing that nobody is happy about the government.
“Let us be sincere, the cost of living has gone up more than during Buhari’s period. We were praying for Buhari to go because of economic hardship, but the worse has come”, she lamented.
Another passenger also lamented that he supposed to have traveled with all members of his family, but due to high cost of transportation, he dropped some of them behind.
Many other passengers interviewed expressed the same opinion, lamenting that things are getting out of hand due to high cost of petroleum products in the country.
According to Madam Grace who said that she was travelling to Warri, but could not pay for her transportation fare and her children.
“I intended to travel with my children, but we could not go due to the high cost of transportation” she lamented.
“How can someone plan to travel with his children and later drop due to financial problem, even to access cash is a problem
in the banks, except in some PoS” she added.
