This was contained in a release signed by its Managing Director, Isah Mustapha and made available to SINL Nigeria Online on Monday.
ELIPI is a civil society organization working on Public financial management, social accountability and Community Development.
“Over the years ELIP-Initiative has been generating citizens’ inputs, annual budgets review, analysis and tracking implementations of Government programs and projects.
“ELIPI lauded Jigawa State Government for considering programs and initiatives that will improve human capital development indices.
“We commend the effort of Ministry of Budget and Planning as well as other sector planning teams for mutual working relationship with Civil Society Organizations”, the statement said.
ELIPI also commended the state government for institutionalization of Citizens’ participation in the high level budget discussion chaired by the state governor, Umar Namadi.
“The exercise has clearly brought to the fore the present administration commitment in considering community priorities in its budget formulation.
“We equally appreciate the priority given to citizens’ input submitted to the state government”, the statement added.
ELIPI therefore urged the citizens and the general public to reciprocate the government’s good intention of carrying people along in its open door policy in governance.
