A non governmental organization, CLEEN Foundation has urged Civil Society organizations and the Media in Jigawa state to make sure that Criminal Justice Law is being implemented in the state.
This was made known during the training session of CSOs, Media as well as Security agents at Haitel Hotel Dutse, Jigawa state capital on Thursday.
Delivering her speech during the training session, Anna White Agbo, the communications and media officer of the foundation said the team of professioners were established to change the narrative in the state regarding the law.
According to her the purpose of creating and training the group is to monitor the implementation of the Criminal Justice Law in the state and how it affect the common man.
For the smooth implementation of the law, Anna said the team will facilitate the exchange of ideas in problem solving between the civil society observatory and the criminal Justice actors in the state.
Meanwhile, some personalities in the society were identified as people that can help achieve the goals and targets of the group.
“The Chief Judge, Commissioner of Police, Correctional services, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corp (NSCDC), traditional and religious leaders were identified as major stakeholders in the crusade”, Agbo said.
