The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa, caused panic at the Banquet Hall of the Aso Rock on Thursday as he slumped while delivering a speech.
Indeed, the action SINL Nigeria Online gathered caused a momentary apprehension at the third National Identity Day celebration.
Panic struck in the crowd as the EFCC Boss suddenly stopped, staggered back to his seat.
Prior to the incident he was talking about a man the agency arrested in Ibadan, Oyo state, with 116 SIM cards.
Bawa had stopped talking and covered his face with his right palm, saying, “Please, excuse me, I can’t continue.”
He was however assisted to his seat by the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Ali Pantami and other senior officials at the event, but he slumped on his seat and was immediately rushed out of the venue of the event.
The Master of Ceremony (MC) later announced that the Bawa’s condition was stable.
“I am happy to announce to you that the EFCC Chairman is now stable,” he said.
