In a major boost to youth empowerment and economic development, the Delta State Government has created over 250,000 job opportunities for young people across the state under the leadership of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

This was revealed by the Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Governor, Mr. Ossai Ovie Success, who lauded the administration’s achievements in tackling youth unemployment through targeted initiatives.

According to Mr. Ossai, in just two years, the Oborevwori-led administration has launched impactful programs such as the D-CARES grant initiative, which provides direct financial assistance to traders and artisans, enabling them to scale their businesses and improve livelihoods.

He further disclosed that more than 200,000 youths have benefitted from skills acquisition schemes, entrepreneurship training, and access to startup grants. These programs are part of a broader strategy to equip Delta’s youth with relevant skills for the modern economy.

“Through strategic collaborations with the private sector, the state government has successfully facilitated job creation, enhanced skills transfer, and stimulated economic growth,” Ossai said.

He emphasized that Governor Oborevwori remains committed to sustainable development and youth inclusion in the state’s economic agenda.
