A group, Patriotic Association has dismissed defection rumour of former Governor Abdulaziz Yari to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Specifically, the group emphasised that Yari cannot abandon a house he jointly built with others for new comers.

A statement on Thursday by the Association Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Nabature and made available to SINL Nigeria Online observed with dismay the attitude of some Governors who allegedly want to destroy APC ahead of 2023.

Nabature said that the association had observed with dismay some Governors attempt to allegedly destroy the party, if their excesses are not checked.

“If the excesses of some APC Governors were not checked, the party would be heading for the rock before the 2023” he said.

He also dismissed rumours making the rounds that former Governor of Zamfara, Abdulaziz Yari, a contender for the National Chairmanship of APC had defected to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

“Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari, a founding member of the APC, had at no time ever discussed or thought of leaving the party without the knowledge of his true supporters across the country,” he said.

Nabature said the Yari faction of the APC was in court challenging the dissolution of the Lawal M. Liman-led caretaker committee in Zamfara state.
