The federal government presidential committee for 774,000 jobs extended special works programme has been inaugurated in Zamfara state.
Indeed, participating women are to clean hospitals and Mosques, acccording to the state committee chairman.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony held at Sardauna memorial stadium in Gusau, the state capital, the Zamfara state acting governor, Barrister Mahdi Aliyu Gusau appreciated the federal government gesture in the state.
He said the aimed was to reduce the rate of unemployment in the country.
Barrister Mahdi Aliyu further explained that, the state government under the leadership of governor Bello Matawalle has introduced N-sip to the teeming youth and vulnerable people across the state with monthly pay of 10,000 naira to each beneficiary in the state.
Speaking shortly after the formal inauguration, the state chairman selection committee, Engineer Ahmad Garba Yandi said the program had already been flagged off nationwide by the Honourable minister of of labour and employment.
He maintained that the beneficiaries were selected from the fourteen local government areas of the state, comprising of men and women.
“Women would be assign to clean Mosques and hospitals as part of extended work program”.
According to him, the implementation of the program was aimed to improve the socio economy of the state and country in general, this is a welcome development” he said.
In his remarks the state coordinator National Directorate of Employment (NDE) Abdullahi Yakubu urged the beneficiaries to participate in their given assignment actively.
Yakubu further warned that absconding to assignment would not be condone,” whoever is found absent from his schedule, definitely he will be removal from the program in the state” he added.
