No fewer than fifteen communities in Kogi state are to benefit under the Rural Electrification Agency of the federal government.
Under the auspices of the federal government NeP programme, the choice of Kogi state, followed its status as one of the fastest global economic hub.
The Kogi State Commissioner for Rural Development, Hon. Daniel Oniel Ejigbo made this known to newsmen.
Ejigbo stated that two teams from the Rural Electrification Agency have visited the state, adding that they have agreed to light up fifteen rural communities in the State.
Specifically, the commissioner noted that five communities in each Senatorial District of the State would be lightened up by the Rural Electrification Agency.
He explained that Kogi has been made a priority state in the Federal Government’s NeP Programme, saying the state is one of the fastest global economic hub.
Indeed, Ejigbo attributed the success recorded in the state to the efforts of Governor Yahaya Bello, who has made rural development a priority.
Similarly, the commissioner also applauded the governor for making Kogi an investment destination.
He described Gov Bello as the most Rural Development friendly Governor Kogi has ever had, even as he lauded the giant strides of the present administration in the state.
