The Zamfara State government has launched the sale of fertilizer to over 2000 farmers on cash and carry basis in the state.

Governor Bello Matawalle made this known on Tuesday evening at the headquarters of Zamfara State Comprehensive Agriculture Revolution Programme (ZACAREP) in Gusau.

According to the governor, the fertilizer was procured to meet the aspirations of farmers.

He explained that over three thousand tones of fertiliser had been procured to be distributed to over 2000 farmers at subsidised rate to boost food security in the state.

Earlier, the Special Adviser to the Governor on ZACAREP, Alhaji Yusuf Jafaru Rawayya said the fertilizer would be sold to farmers at subsidised rate of N15,000 per bag.

He maintained that this year’s sales came with a difference, saying farmers would access the commodity on cash and carry basis.
