(SINL NIGERIA) The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has directed Commanding Officers to integrate mobile court operations into their end-of-year enforcement efforts.
He said the strategic move aims to enhance road safety and reduce traffic crashes during the festive season and beyond.
“Mobile court operations will enable the prompt prosecution of traffic offenders, serving as a deterrent to potential violators”.
He added that to ensure the success of this initiative, Commanding Officers will work closely with stakeholders, including the judiciary, to facilitate seamless prosecution of traffic rules violators.
He noted that in preparation for the mobile court operations, the Corps Marshal has ordered Commanding Officers to conduct robust public enlightenment campaigns.
“These campaigns will educate road users on the importance of adhering to traffic laws and regulations”.
Emphasizing the importance of compliance, the Corps Marshal urged drivers and vehicle owners to ensure their vehicles are in good condition and that their licenses are up to date.
He stressed that observing traffic rules and regulations is crucial to avoiding prosecution, saying no driver will be spared if found violating the law.
“This directive is in line with the FRSC’s corporate strategic goal to reduce road fatalities by 5%. By intensifying enforcement efforts and promoting public awareness, the FRSC aims to maintain sanity on the highways and ensure a safer driving experience for all road users”.
