The fuel subsidy removal by the federal government has been described as a panacea for national development.

Group Chairman, Mutual Benefits Assurance and Patron Friends of Jagaban Initiatives, Dr Akin Ogunbiyi while speaking with journalists urged Nigerians to embrace the decision of President Bola Tinubu to scrap the cankerworm that has been a clog in the wheel of the nation’s development.

He said “we appreciate the fact that the early stage of the fuel subsidy removal will be tough, however, we urge Nigerians to be patient because there is a light at the end of the tunnel”.

Dr Ogunbiyi stressed that President Tinubu is not oblivious of the yearnings of people and will certainly take measures to mitigate the initial harshness of this “laudable and bold policy”.

“All that is necessary at this stage is the understanding and support of the people for the renewed hope that this administration has offered Nigerians ” he added.

Dr Ogunbiyi stressed further that the choice of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at this trying period of the nation is an excellent one ” because his personality as a democrat, commitment to the rule of law, believe in federal character and love for the common man are grounds for our admiration and hope that Nigeria has just begun on a progressive and prosperous trajectory”.
