Gov. Badaru appoints Hameem Nuhu Sanusi new Emir of Dutse

Jigawa state Governor, Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubakar has approved the appointment of Alhaji Hameem Nuhu Sunusi as the new Emir of Dutse.

The appointment of the new Emir was announced to the citizens of the state Sunday evening by the Secretary to the state government, Alhaji Abdulkadir Adamu Fanini.

He said the Governor’s approval followed the recommendation submitted to him by the Dutse Emirate kingmakers after the demise of Alhaji Nuhu Mohammadu Sanusi five days ago.

The SSG urged the new Emir to strive hard and unite his subjects as well as to carry along all the members of the families and relations irrespective of their age or status.

“The new Emir has the best role model in his late father, and we want him to copy the exemplary leadership style and qualities of his father”, SSG said.

The new Emir succeeded his father, Dr Mohammada Nuhu Sunusi who died at the age of 79 on Jan. 31, after 28 years on the throne.

Alhaji Hameem Nuhu Muhammad Sunusi until his appointment was Dan’iya of Dutse and member of the Emirate council.

Responding, the new Emir expressed gratitude to the Governor for finding him worthy of the position and promised to justify the confidence reposed in him.

The new monarch promised to operate an open door policy, and called for the support and cooperation of everyone in the Emirate
