Gov. Matawalle fires all Special advisers, DG’s, creates 3 new ministries.

The Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle has relieved all Special Advisers and Directors General in the state of their appointments.
The Governor also approved the creation of three new ministries in the state.


In a statement signed by the secretary to the state government Alhaji Bala Bello Maru on Thursday said with the additional ministries, the state now has 22 ministries.


According to the statement, the additional ministries was in accordance with dynamic nature of governance and to allow for effective service delivery. 


The newly created ministries are, Ministry of Arts, Culture and Tourism, Ministry of Higher Education and Ministry for Social and Community development. 


“Accordingly, some of the existing ministries are restructured and named as Ministry of Information, Ministry of Commerce and Industries, Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, Ministry for Local Government Affairs and Ministry of Science and Technical Education. 

“In accordance with restructuring excercise, His Excellency relieved all Special Advisers of their appointments. Similarly all the Directors General are hereby dropped to enable for proper reorganisation of the existing Directorates”.


The statement added the Special Advisers and the Directors General are to hand over the affairs of their organisations to the accounting officers, or the Directors of Administration of their respective Directorates.
