Governor of Jigawa state, Badaru Abubakar, Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon Idris Jahun alongside federal lawmakers were absent at the APC state Congress held on Saturday at the Aminu Kano Triangle in Dutse.
But the state Local Committee Chairman of the congress, Hon. Lawal Yunusa Danzomo defended the absence of the personalities, saying Governor Badaru was unavoidably absence due to national engagement and was represented by his deputy, Alh. Umar Namadi, adding that the Speaker was also represented by the Majority leader, Hon. Habu Ahmed Maigatari.
The congress was supervised and presided over by a 7 -man electoral Committee from the National Secretariat of the ruling party in Abuja led by Alh Haruna Musa.
The Committee affirmed the concensus as earlier adopted by the party stakeholders and leaders of the 287 wards across the 27 council’s in Jigawa state.
Those affirmed were Aminu Sani Gumel as Chairman, Nasir Dahiru Jahun, State Deputy Chairman, Mannir Uba Gumel, Vice Chairman North, Isa Baba Buji Vice Chairman Central, and Ango Abdullahi Vice Chairman East.
Gumel until his new position was the immediate past Chairman of Gumel Local Government Council and the state ALGON Chairman.
In his post election speech, Aminu Sani Gumel assured of transparent and committed leadership. “We pledged to run an inclusive administration that will carry every one along in our quest for the progress and development of our great party”.
Other affirmed state exco.members include Muhammad Umar Dikuma – State Secretary, Sa’adu Babandi, Assistant Secretary, Musa Kwalgwai, state treasurer, Sarki Kafinta Assistant treasurer, Bashir A. Kundi, publicity secretary, and Ado Aliyu Asst. Publicity secretary.
Similarly, those who emerged include, Hajia Abu S. Fawa organising secretary, Garba Muhammad Asst organising secretary, Ibrahim Yau Gagarawa Youth leader, Shehu Muhammad Birnin Kudu assistant youth leader, Dayyaba Shuaibu women leader, Adamu Haruna auditor, four ex- officio among others.
