How Hon. Monguno empowered constituents with N34 million through skill Acquisition Programme (See Photos)

It was a day of joy for the people of Borno North senatorial district, following the empowerment of the constituents with N34 million skill acquisition programme by the chief whip of the House of Representatives, who is the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for Northern Borno senatorial zone, Rt. Hon. Barr. Mohammed Tahir Monguno.

Indeed, the lawmaker in collaboration with the Centre for Management Department organized a three-day skills acquisition training for 340 constituents across the ten local government areas of Borno North.

Monguno, also used the auspicious occasion to extol former governor Kashim Shettima’s choice as the APC vice presidential candidate.

According to Monguno “with the emergence of Sen. Kashim Shettima as the APC vice presidential candidate, we have no option rather than to coalesce into a single force that is going to deliver the highest number of votes in terms of percentage and number.”

The training which officially flagged off on Thursday, 9th August 2022 ended up on Saturday, 13th August.

The elated beneficiaries were trained for three days on poultry farming and animal husbandry, also received a certificate of training and One Hundred Thousand Naira (N100,000.00) cash each as a starter package at the closing ceremony of the program, cumulatively Thirty-Four Million Naira were disbursed.

Additionally, the Administrative Director to the chief whip, Hon Abacha Ma’aji anchored ceremony and gave the opening remarks. 

Among other, speakers at the event were; the Board chairman of Borno state pension board, Alhaji Modu Alhaji Musa, the APC candidate for Marte Monguno Nganzai federal constituency Hon. Engr. Bukar Talba, APC zonal vice chairman zone C, Hon. Mustapha Gadobe, Former Chairman Abadam LGC Busami Ardo, the member of Borno House of Assembly presenting Nganzai state constituency, Rt. Hon. Sheikh Mohammed Ali Gajiram, Peace Ambassador Alhaji Goni Kurtube, and others.

All speakers emphasized on the successes achieved by the Rt. Hon. MT Monguno in bringing succour to his constituents and beyond. 

They added that, Hon. Monguno is yet to be elected to represent the ten LGAs of northern Borno in the red chamber, but his dividends of democracy are all over the ten LGAs of the region. “He is our hope and he will transform our region to the highest level for a better place of living”. 


The benefactor, Monguno in his closing remarks expressed gratitude to the APC leadership of the state and the National headquarters for giving the position of the APC vice presidential candidate to the political guru of the state, Sen. Kashim Shettima.

He said “first and foremost, let me start by expressing my gratitude to the Almighty Allah who spared our lives up to this moment. I have to also use this medium to thank the APC national working committee and its presidential candidate for giving us the position of vice presidential candidate, to not only the son of Borno but the Jagaban of the state, Distinguished Sen. Kashim Shettima. 

“Sen. Shettima has served meritoriously the good people of Borno state for eight years as a governor, and now serving as a senator. With the vice presidential candidate of the APC, everybody in Borno state irrespective of religion, or ethnicity, must coalesce into a single force to deliver a maximum vote to the APC. 

“As people of Borno, we have no option rather than to coalesce into a single force, into a single momentum that is going to deliver the highest number of votes in terms of percentage and number to APC in the forthcoming general election.

“The series empowerment program that we are doing is to follow the footsteps of our people-oriented governor, Prof Engr. Babagana Umara Zulum, mni, FNSE in terms of distribution of palliatives, directly to the doorsteps of our people, he is also traversing directly to the nooks and crannies of our communities and empowering our people.

“Therefore, to compliment his efforts, our empowerment program will now consider the electorates down from polling units in our LGAs. Thank you for all your support and prayers. I wish you a successful journey back to your destination.” Hon. Monguno said.

Highlights of the occasion was the presentation of award of Excellence to Monguno by the Leadership of the Maiduguri Umbrella Academy led by its CEO Comr. Mustapha Lawan Mustapha in recognition of not only his constituency projects but his contributions to the national development in the green chamber. 

Similarly, an individual, Bakura Modu Kingibe presented another award to Hon. Monguno while two singers of Hausa and Kanuri languages presented a video clip of their songs to him as part of their contributions to his campaign.

The event saw the presence of Northern Borno state LGAs APC party chairmen and their executives, SSAs and SAs from the region, the leadership of northern Borno clubs and associations, councils chairmen, members of the Borno state House of Assembly, APC candidates, critical stakeholders from the northern part of the state, and others were all in attendance at the closing ceremony.
