The Special Adviser to Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State on Skills Acquisition, Dr Aslam Aliyu has vowed not to join the Governor to APC, saying she remain a member of People’s Democratic party (PDP).
She specified “I am former vice president Atiku Abubakar’s loyalist, I can’t defect to APC”.
Speaking with newsmen on Wednesday in Gusau, she said “Gov Bello Matawalle while planning for the defection contacted his Commissioners and Special Advisers”.
“During our meeting, the Governor gave reasons for leaving PDP for APC and he knows my reasons that I cannot follow him to APC.
“You know, I am a loyalist of the former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, he is my mentor and father, l’m in politics because of him.
“Therefore as far as Atiku is in PDP, I will not leave the party” she said.
The governor’s aided, added, “following the new development in the state on the defection of Matawalle to APC, I am informing the general public that I am not among his aides that defected to APC.
“I remain in my political party, the PDP”.
On her position as special adviser to the governor on Skills Acquisition, Aliyu said she would continue to run the responsibility given to her by the governor.
“I don’t think my decision will affect my zeal to work.
“Political differences will not stop me from contributing to the development of the state” she added.
Recall, Matawalle had on Tuesday announced his defection from PDP to the APC at a grand rally in Gusau.
