As consequence of its avowed commitment to rid its UTME
registration process of fraudulent elements, the Joint Admissions and Matri culation Board (JAMB) has suspended two major financial institutions engaged in the vending of its e-pins.
The Registrar of the Board, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, had, at a meeting with financial institutions (vendors) engaged in the vending of the 2022 UTME/DE e-PINs, announced the immediate suspension and blacklisting of the two vendors for allowing their agents to vend the e-PINs above the stipulated price of N4,700 (cumulative cost).

He stated that the Board would, beside blacklisting these institutions, retrieved the details of their culpable agents for prosecution as well as report their misdeeds to the Federal Competition and C o n s u m e r P r o t e c t i o n Commission (FCCPC), to ensure that the extorted candidates are fully refunded.
The Registrar further disclosed that the Board understands the pains of the two vendors for the embarrassment caused them by their agents and, as such accepts their apologies and their commitment to ensure that all the culprits are fished out and sanctioned.
He, however, reiterated the Board’s zero tolerance for irregularities and, added that the two vendors could not be completely exonerated from the malfeasance of their agents.
He announced the suspension of the two vendors in line with the prior warnings issued to all Board’s service partners that they would be responsible for any misdeeds of their agents.
He charged all vendors to monitor the activities of their agents, saying the Board would continue to hold all principals responsible for any breaches they committed.
“In the same vein, these agents are also warned, in their own interest, to desist from engaging in fraudulent acts or face appropriate sanctions” noting that the concerned agents had been reported to the FCCPC so as to retrieve all excess charges.
He, however, commended the vendors for promptly providing the names and other details of the agents concerned, adding that the Board would not only ban such agents from transacting any business with it but also ensure that they are not patronised by any other agency.
Similarly, the FCCPC management has also disclosed plans to float a platform through which candidates who are charged higher than N4,700 can file their complaints for immediate redress.
