Jigawa first Lady disburses N25m to 250 beneficiaries

The wife of the Executive Governor of Jigawa state, Hajiya Hadiza Umar Namadi has disbursed N25 million to 250 beneficiaries selected from the 287 Wards across the state.

She advised the beneficiaries of the “Renewed Hope Initiative, Elderly Support Scheme programme” to avoid mismanaging the money given to them as palliative by government.

She stated this on Thursday during the official launch of the distribution of NI00.000 cash to each of the 250 elderly persons aged 65 years and above. 

“The programme was initiated by the first Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu and is being Implemented under the Renewed Hope Elderly Support Initiative.

“This palliative measure is

intended to cushion the effects of the economic situation and alleviate the suffering of the elderly

in our community”, she added.

She explained that N25 million has been distributed to 250 beneficiaries selected across the 287 Wards in the state.

Mrs Namadi added that the present government has taken this step with a view to serve the people better, especially those in the rural communities.

During the occasion medical services were offered to participants.
