Jigawa: Gov Namadi signs N298b budget into law

Jigawa state Governor, Mallam  Umar Namadi on Thursday signed the 2024 Appropriations bill of N298.14 billion into law at the government house Dutse.

The Governor signed the budget into law a week after its passed third reading at the plenary of the state House of Assembly.

Recall, on November 15, 2024 Governor Namadi presented the sum of N298.14 billion before the state House of Assembly.

The Budget which was tagged ‘Budget for a Greater Jigawa’ is almost 23 per cent higher than the total appropriation in the 2023 fiscal year.

Governor Namadi commended the efforts of the legislators for the quick passage of the bill.

“I want to use this opportunity to thank state the House of Assembly for the speedy passage.

“I have come to learn the kind of scrutiny the MDA’s went through, 

that shows the members have done the needful and what is right for the 2024 appropriation bill.

“I urged you to continue with your constitutional responsibilities, when it comes to implementation of this budget, I want you to also undertake your oversight functions to ensure that it is implemented accordingly”, Namadi stressed.

He said on the side of the executive, the document was arrived at after thorough consultations with all stakeholders.
