Jigawa state government has constructed 96 roads worth N175.1 billion covering 1,642.43 kilometres long, linking different parts of the state.
The state Commissioner of Works, Engineer Aminu Usman made this known at the Weekly Media Engagement Forum organized by the Correspondent chapel on Wednesday.
The commissioner said Badaru’s administration inherited a good number of roads from previous government and decided to complete it before starting new roads one.
According to him previous government paid only N32.5 Billion while Badaru”s administration paid N55.8 Billion balance of the inherited road projects.
Engineer Usman explained that the total amount expended on the inherited roads was N88.4 Billion covering 716.5 Kilometres long across the state.
He also said among the roads completed include 15 regional roads, seven feeder roads and 20 township roads.
