The Acting Commissioner of health Jigawa, Dr Salisu Mu’azu has said that in terms of water supply and other improved health facilities, Jigawa state is second to Lagos State in the whole country.
He also observed that there are 700 well established health facilities across the nooks and crannies of the state.
He explained that the Health sector appropriation in 2021 was N21.2 billion representing 14 percent of the state budget among others.
“These facilities include General and Specialist hospitals and other health centres across the state”.
Mu’azu spoke on Wednesday while addressing newsmen at the weekly Media Engagement Forum organized by the correspondent chapel, Jigawa state.
“In terms of water supply and other improved health facilities, Jigawa state is Second to Lagos State in the whole country.
“The Service delivery Health sector, has registered 50 private health facilities, 35 private hospitals and 15 diagnostic centres across the state in 2021. The sum of N1,510,000 was generated as revenue on private hospitals, clinics registration as well as renewal of licenses”, he said.
He further stated that up to 11 community Pharmacies and 238 Patent and Medicine vendors were registered, the sum of 800,000.00 was remitted to the board of Internal Revenue as state government share of the licencing fee.
