Jigawa state government expends 331.6million on 200 retirees

The Executive Secretary of Jigawa state Pension Board, Alhaji Kamilu Aliyu Musa has said the state government has paid N331.6 Million to 200 retirees, from September to October 2021.


The Executive Secretary disclosed this while addressing newsmen on the activities of the board from September to October 2021 on Wednesday in Dutse.

He noted that the excersie include N199.1 million retirement benefit of 121 who died in active service from the state civil service to those in local government council (LGC) as well as those in local government Education Authority (LGEA).


He added that the death benefit of 15 persons from the state, 14 persons from the LGC and 18 persons from the LGEA made the total to be 47 and were paid N113.6 Million.


He said a total of those on death pension balance are 20 in number and were given N17.6 Million as their benefit, saying 9 persons were from the state, 6 persons from the LGC and 5 persons from the LGEA among others.


“Those in refund of 8% contribution benefit were only 12 in number and received the sum of N1.2 Million.


He explained that henceforth, the pension board will be paying retirees their benefits once their files reach his table within any given time, provided they are up to 150 or 200.
