Jigawa targets 1.2 million children for Immunization against life-threatening diseases

Jigawa state government has said over 1.2 million children are being targeted for immunization against Spinal Cord Meningitis (SMG), Measels as well as other life-threatening diseases.

Speaking at the venue of the immunization on Wednesday, the Executive Secretary state Primary Heathcare Development Agency, Dr Kabiru Ibrahim said the exercise was timely.

Dr Ibrahim who is a Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health, said that the Immunization include the Covid-19 vaccines that will be administered on people from 18 years and above.

He also explained that the exercise is taken place simultenously across the 113,000 towns, villages and hamlets in the state.

He noted that the exercise against life-threatening diseases will be conducted in six days in all the nooks and crannies of the state.
