A member representing Buji/Birninkudu federal constituency, Honourable Magaji Da’u Aliyu has donated food items, other relief materials worth N19 million to the victims of flood in his constituency.
Speaking at the occasion that took place in Birninkudu, on Thursday, Honourable Aliyu urged the victims to accept the disaster as an act of God Almighty.
He also observed that, as a member representing the area, it is binding on him and any other wealth-to-do individual in the society to complement government’s effort in assisting the victims.
The Member presented the food items and the relief materials to nine district heads in his constituency for onward distribution to the victims in their respective villages.
The materials included 800 bags of Maize, 120kg cocking oil, rice, roofing sheets, nails and other items respectively.
He therefore, prayed for the repose of the 130 people that lost their lives in the flood eternal rest and prevent reoccurrence.
