Mohammed Umar resumes as EFCC’s acting chairman

The Head of Operations at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mohammed Umar, has been named as the acting chairman of the commission.

The News agency of Nigeria said a top official of the commission confirmed that Umar has taken charge of the agency in the absence of Ibrahim Magu.

Until his assumption, Umar, a Deputy Commissioner of Police, was the second most senior official at the agency.

In operational hierarchy and by convention, the director of operations is next to the chairman.
