(SINL NIGERIA) The leadership crisis rocking the Motorcycle Operators Union of Nigeria (MOUN) has escalated, following the suspension of the Deputy President in charge of planning and logistics, Sotayo Razaq Solebe by the union.
SINL Nigeria Online reports that Solebo had reportedly been parading himself as the national president of the union against an order of court.
It would be recalled that sequel to the leadership crisis, the union instituted suits and indeed approached the Industrial court in a suit no: NICN/ABJ/384/2023 and also filed a suit at District Magistrate court, suit no: CR/516/2024.
Speaking with our Correspondent on Friday in Abuja, the National President of MOUN, Chief Julius Bobi stated that Solebo remain suspended from the union for parading himself as leader and operating an office outside the designated office of the union in Abuja.
He explained that “based on evidence, the court restrained the embattled Deputy President, Solebo and ordered the sealing of his office in Utako”.
Chief Bobi cited rule 17(3), saying Solebo contravened constitution of MOUN.
“We approached industrial court to complain about impersonation, we also approached district magistrate court”.
Specifically, the MOUN National President added that the district magistrate court ordered the police to investigate the matter.
He however bemoaned “we are awaiting the police to carry out the court order”, stressing that the order was issued on 4th November but two weeks after, it is yet to be carried out.
“The police is holding the criminal suit” Bobi said.
