The Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Jigawa state, Dr Mustapha Lamido has distributed 300 cartons of fertilizer to deserving farmers.
The 300 cartons of the fertilizer is going to be distributed to about 27,000 farmers across the 27 local government areas of the state.
Mustapha Lamido who was represented by his Deputy, Dr Ibrahim Babandi Gumel on Tuesday warned that the fertilizer was meant for the entire citizens of Jigawa state.
Babandi explained that, during the administration of Sule Lamido, government used to pay 60 percent, while the citizens of Jigawa state paid just about 40 percent of the amount.
Also, the state Party chairman, Alhaji Aliyu Idris Digintsa advised the committee saddled with the responsibility of distributing the commodity to include everybody.
“This fertilizer, should be given to everybody, not PDP or APC, but for the entire Jigawa people. It is meant to be distributed equally”, he said.
He said that the fertilizer is in liquid form, and has to be mixed with water before use.
