(SINL NIGERIA) The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) management team paid a courtesy visit to the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Babatunde, at his palace in Lagos on Wednesday.
During the meeting, NAHCON Chairman Professor Abdullahi Usman sought the monarch’s support in educating pilgrims about the significance of Hajj rites and their associated civic responsibilities.
Professor Usman also requested the Oba’s assistance in raising awareness among the Muslim Umma about the Hajj Savings Scheme.
This initiative aims to address the challenges facing Hajj operations in Nigeria.
The Chairman emphasized the importance of this scheme in ensuring a smoother and more efficient Hajj experience for Nigerian pilgrims.
Oba Rilwan Babatunde welcomed the NAHCON team and expressed his appreciation for the visit.
In his response, he urged Professor Usman, his team, and other Hajj managers to uphold the teachings of Islam in the discharge of their duties.
The Oba’s endorsement underscores the significance of collaboration between traditional rulers and Hajj authorities in promoting a successful and spiritually enriching Hajj experience.
