Following the screening of Dr. Mathew Adepoju, a nominee of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the position of Director General of the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), there are indications that he may be confirmed by the Senate.
The chairman of Senate Committee on Science and Technology, Senator Aminu Abbas confirmed that from his Curriculum Vitae and antecedents he was going to be a round peck in a round hole.
According to Abbas, the committee would recommend for his confirmation at the plenary, saying they were satisfied with the answers he gave to their questions on how he will add value to the agency.
Specifically, a member of the committee, Senator Abdufatai Buhari advised the nominee to justify the confidence reposed in him by Mr President and the Senate who have screened him.
Adepoju while fielding questions from the legislators said that the only challenge the agency is currently having is funding and office space.
He also spoke on capacity building for staff of the agency to enhance productivity.
Recall, Dr. Adepoju is currently the acting DG of the agency.
