Senator Biodun Olujimi (PDP Ekiti South) has assured that unending in-house crises rocking the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in her state will hopefully be address by the national convention of the party.

The former deputy Governor of Ekiti state dropped the hint on Thursday when she hosted National Assembly New Media Forum in her Office in Abuja.

She said “It has been so tough for us to do. But I know that with the Convention, something has to be done. The NEC has effectively ceded its powers to the Convention Committee and I know that the Convention Committee, in having to put together all the elections and the congresses coming up in the various states, would have to attend to the problems of Ekiti, Osun and other states that have pending issues, and I believe that is where the resolution will come from”.

According to the lawmaker the PDP remain the party to beat, despite the gale of defections.

Specifically, she said the defections currently being suffered by party would not affect its chances of winning elections.

She said, “This is election time and election times are always like this. People who believe that their interests cannot be saved here will want to move. But let me assure you, they will all come back, if they don’t come back, they will fizzle into oblivion.

“The truth is, the people on the other side also have enough people to take charge there. So whatever is happening, is happening because where people believe they have upper hand, they go and wield it there and it doesn’t work that way”.

Olujimi explained that the party convention would help reposition the party ahead of 2023 general elections.

“We are working so hard to reposition our party ahead of 2023 elections. And of course, there are other elections coming up before 2023. We need a strong party to be able to weigh through all the elections that are staring us at the face, and I know that the Governor’s Forum, the Board of Trustees (BoT) and the National Executive Committee (NEC), have been up and doing” She added.
