New Senate Clerk: A Profile of Rawlins Agada

(SINL NIGERIA) Mr. Rawlins Agada, an accomplished legislative professional, has been appointed by the National Assembly Service Commission as the Clerk of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. 

Indeed, the appointment is a testament to his exceptional expertise and dedication to the legislative process.

Throughout his career, Mr. Agada has demonstrated a remarkable commitment to public service, serving in various capacities within the National Assembly. “Notably, he represented Nigeria in the Permanent Secretariat Desk of the Pan African Parliament in South Africa and played a prominent role in the Legislative Business of both the regional Parliament and Interparliamentary Union in Geneva, Switzerland.

“As President of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN), National Assembly, Mr. Agada showcased his leadership skills and ability to drive positive change”. 

His appointment as Director, Information and Research, National Assembly, in May 2019, marked a significant milestone in his career, where he oversaw the digitization of proceedings in the Chambers, recalibrated the accreditation process for National Assembly Correspondents, and inaugurated the National Assembly New Media.

Mr. Agada’s subsequent appointments as Deputy Clerk (Admin) of the House of Representatives and later the Senate, further underscored his versatility and value to the legislative process. 

His elevation to Deputy Clerk (Legislative) of the Senate was a fitting recognition of his expertise and contributions.

The National Assembly Service Commission’s decision to appoint Mr. Agada as the Clerk of the Senate is a well-deserved recognition of his outstanding service and dedication to the legislative process.
