A Non governmental organisation, Organization for Community Civic Engagement (OCCEN), has warned politicians to be mindful of their comments on the recent verdict by the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.

OCCEN, in a statement on Saturday by its Executive Director, Comrade Abdulrazaq Alkali and made available to SINL Nigeria Online commended the five judges that presided over the Judgement that upheld the victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The statement however urged Nigerian politicians to uphold the sanctity of the judiciary, saying the ruling by the 5-member justices from the appeal court and high courts was remarkably commendable.

The Organization warned politicians to be careful and be mindful of their reactions and comments on the judgement to avoid anything that can cause chaos in Nigeria.

“Upholding the victory of President  Tinubu will go a long way in strengthening the tenets of democracy and independence of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the country.

“Constitution has clearly laid down procedures to follow in challenging election at tribunals up to supreme court” he said.
