(SINL NIGERIA) The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, has reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to investing in personel training to enhance swift response to security threats in Borno state.
The CAS gave the hints on Wednesday while hosting the 2025 Sallah Luncheon with troops of the Air Component of Operation Hadin-Kai of the northeast held in Maiduguri.
Air Marshal Abubakar who was represented by Air Officer Commanding Tatical Air Command, Air Vice Marshal EO Ebiowe noted that the training will ensure training and operational effectiveness of its personnel.
“We continue to invest in training, research, and the operationalization of indigenous technologies to ensure that our forces remain agile and capable of responding to any evolving security situation”
“Additional platforms underscores the NAF’s resolve to remain proactive in our strategic approach to combating terrorism and related security threats in the Northeast
“This strategic transformation is in line with my command philosophy to ensure the NAF is prepared for the challenges of today and the future” he said
He commended the troops for tenacity and resilient in the ongoing operations, while stating that it is a direct reflection of their capacity to adapt, innovate, and execute decisive actions that deliver results on the ground.
“Our commitment goes beyond just operational air power. The NAF has remained deeply engaged in winning the hearts and minds of the citizens through humanitarian efforts, societal engagement, and welfare initiatives.
“With Operation KALACEN WUTA, we are sending a strong message determined to not only decimate the insurgents where they are, but to break their capability to inflict harm, ensuring long-term peace and stability in the Regioni,”he vowed.
Also, Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State was represented by Usman Tar, the State Commissioner for Information and Internal Security thanked the NAF for their role during last year’s devastating flood disaster which is not only combating insurgency but provides humanitarian response to the host communities.
He said, “Your support is invaluable to our mission’s success. You have proven that the NAF is a force for good, beyond combat operations.
“The host communities have also played a crucial role in providing credible intelligence and supporting our operations. I commend them for their cooperation, which greatly enhances the effectiveness of our missions, “he said.
