The chief of Army staff, Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja has said about eight Blocks of 24 Class rooms had been renovated and furnished by the Nigerian Army in Dutse local government area of Jigawa state.
The Army also provided set of school uniform to over 1,000 pupils.
He said the projects executed was part of the military policy for non kinetic support in national peace and development.
The Chief of Army Staff was represented by the Chief of Civil Military Affairs, Major General NC Ogbor.
“The community Special Intervention Project is an opportunity for senior military officers to reciprocate their immediate community with such projects for promoting better relationship between military and general public.
“I assure Jigawa state government and people of the state, that the Nigerian Army will continue to work hand in hand with sister security agencies and general public in protecting the territorial integrity of the country” he stressed.
Meanwhile, the Jigawa state Governor, Malam Umar Namadi has commended the chief of Army Staff for such intervention.
He said the efforts of the state government is to provide enabling environment for teaching and learning to take place in the state.
The governor also commended the executor of the project Major General Abdulkadir Mohammed, saying he is a proud son, who have concerns for the future of young generation in the state.
“I assure the chief of army staff, and the executor of the project that, government in collaboration with the community, will utilize and protect the project to achieve the desire goals of providing access to quality education to our children”, Namadi added.
