(SINL NIGERIA) The Acting National Chairman of the Labour Party, Senator Nenadi Usman has described the gathering at the Book Presentation: “Obi: The Political Change Agent” as historic.

The event held on Tuesday at the NAF Conference Center in Abuja, Usman noted that the book chronicles the political journey of Peter Obi, a figure who has become a voice for change in Nigeria’s democratic landscape.

The book, authored by Ike Abonyi, explores Obi’s public service and the larger themes of accountability, simplicity, and principle-driven leadership.

The 250-page book is divided into 26 chapters, taking readers on a journey through Obi’s political career and the Obidient Movement, which has become a symbol of youth political awakening and civic courage.

Specifically, Usman commended the author for his bold and unflinching chronicle, highlighting the chapters on electoral intrigue, media battles, and ideological tenacity as essential readings for understanding Nigeria’s shifting democratic landscape.

Usman urged participants to view the book not as a conclusion, but as a preface to a new national dialogue.

She emphasized the importance of rethinking leadership, the role of political parties, and the place of ordinary citizens in shaping change.

The book, according to Acting National chairman of Labour Party “reminds us that patriotism requires active participation, not just passive admiration”.

The event featured scholars, political leaders, and reviewers, who drew inspiration from both Peter Obi and the movement he catalyzed.

The movement, Usman noted, embodies the spirit of a new Nigeria, built on meticulous leadership, courageous citizens, and uncompromising values.
