Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has said the unity of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is very critical to winning the 2023 presidential election.

Wike disclosed this on Wednesday in Jos after attending a court sitting at the Plateau State High Court where former Governor of Plateau State, Jonah David Jang is standing trial for alleged N6.3 billion fraud.

He explained that his visit to Plateau was to bring forth unity between two party PDP leaders in the state, Gen. Jeremiah Useni (rtd) and Jonah David.

Wike said “We will do what we can between the ambit of the constitution to support him and to show solidarity.

“Why I’m here is to bring unity between the two great party leaders, Jonah Jang and General J T Husani, we want our party to be united before the forth coming general election.

“Plateau State is ready for PDP to take over power, every aspirant should keep in mind that we must be united as a party before aspiring for any position”.

He urged all party leaders and supporters to come together so as to move the party forward.

Meanwhile, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Mike Ozekhome said it is clear that all witnesses who came under cross examination have  so far vindicated the former executive Governor of plateau state, Jonah

David Jang, saying he is innocent to the alleged criminal breach of trust and misappropriation of Plateau state funds.

“All the witnesses we took today most respectively have actually strengthen our case more than ever before, the two billion naira loan that was taken by the Plateau State Government was not taken by his excellency former Governor, senator Jonah David Jang”.
