The Vice Chancellor, Plateau State University, Bokkos, Prof. Yohanna Daniel Izam has said the newly constructed faculty of health sciences and Senate building which is ready for commissioning will add value to the institution.
Prof. Izam disclosed this on thursday during a media parley with journalists at the Institution.
“We are very happy that these projects have been completed within the appropriate time and I also want to commend the efforts of the contractors for working tirelessly to see to the success of these projects.
Prof. Izam said “the university Senate building is cited at the highest point of school so as to signify Plateau.
“The Senate building comprises of the office of the vice chancellor, office of the registrar and other board member offices, not withstanding the Senate chamber with 300 seating capacity.
“Faculty of health sciences which is also ready for commissioning consists of classrooms, data rooms, stores and library for each of the department, conference room, ICT room, laboratories and offices”.
He applauded the federal government for it’s intervention for embarking on such projects and the state government for providing leadership to the university to access all the funds used.
“The local government, traditional rulers and land owners are not left behind, we really appreciate your efforts for the allocation of land where the university is situated”.
He assured that the structure will be strong and reliable since it was handled by professional builders.
He stressed that the school management will continue to partner with the state and local securities to ensure safety of lives and properties of students for effective learning.
