Ramadan: Zamfara Senator distributes 8,000 bags of rice to Constituents

A Senator representing Zamfara West senatorial District, Senator Lawali Hassan Anka has distributed 8,000 bags of rice to supporters, orphans and less privileged persons as part of Ramadan welfare package.

Speaking during the distribution of the commodity on Monday at his home town Anka, Senator Anka said the gesture was to further compliment State government efforts in reducing hardship.

According to the senator, the rice would be distributed to six local government areas of his constituency (Zamfara west).

“It is my responsibility as representative of the people to always look back and assist my constituents and those who supported us particularly in this trying period”.

The Senator who was represented by PDP vice chairman in the State, Alhaji Hassan Marafa Damri said he was mandated to distribute the rice across the 6 local government areas that make up western senatorial zone.

He charged the committee set up to ensure equitable distribution of the commodity without fear or favour and ensure no single bag of rice is diverted.

Also speaking, the committee secretary and Special Assistant to Senator Lawal  Hassan Daniya Anka, Murtala Ishaka Jangebe explained that 62 wards of the 6 local government areas would benefit from the gesture. 

“We have made all arrangements to ensure that our supporters, orphans and less privileged people benefit from the gesture across the 62 wards of the 6 local government areas that includes Anka, Bukkuyum, Gummi, Bakura, Talata Mafara and Maradun”.
